WHAT WE DID PREVIOUS TERMS…
Hiking, camp cooking pancakes and sausages, starting our own camp fires with flints, finding native fish, setting pest traps and monitoring predators, building a survival hut in the bush, exploring the rocky shores, beach, bush and an old local quarry, tasting edible weeds, scavenger hunts, abseiling, tree climbing, caving, kayaking, boating across the harbour, sand surfing, climbing, floating across the harbour, surfing, swimming, plant collecting, painting, gardening and an overnight camp have been some of the great activities we’ve completed over the last few years with the Karioi KIDS and RANGERS program.
Its been super fun – and we’ve learned lots – from experts in our community and about ourselves – and especially about how to survive in the outdoors – and what we need to be prepared.
Well done everyone!
